An Artful Introduction

Art, community, and story comes together.

In November of 2025, Christine Olson, owner of Sfingiday, Allie Bateman, general manager of Sfingiday Seattle, and I began introducing the Seattle Local Art Program to the Seattle shop.

In these tumultuous times, we wish to help spark joy in the lives of the people who visit our shop. The time to celebrate art is now.

Christine, Allie, and I put our noses to the grindstone and got to searching. Fortunately, Seattle has no shortage of incredible artists, as talent seems to run through the veins of this city, circulating within a community of great ingenuity and creativity.

Allie and I work with Christine to source and cultivate relationships with artists in our area. You will find everything from handmade jewelry and original artwork to linocut prints and other crafted pieces.

Sfingiday continues to be dedicated to creating and providing a space where artists can connect with our community and showcase their work. We pride ourselves on having over 500 brands and artists in the shop at any given time, and the Seattle Local Art Program further strengthens our ethos. We are constantly on the hunt for new artists and enjoy adding new talent to our growing roster.

We hope you stay tuned, for in the coming weeks Sfingiday will launch a blog series, “Art for Art’s Sake: Artist Stories from Sfingiday’s Local Art Program,” highlighting participating artists and sharing their stories.
